Fight Club 1/10/10

Posters had handwavilyshhhh! gone up in a variety of locations all over the island this week, and now it was Sunday evening, with Ghanima and Tyler waiting in the gym.

"Welcome back to our returning members, and hello to those of you that are new," Ghanima began crisply. "I am Lady Ghanima Atreides, he's Tyler Durden. You should have seen the rules on the door when you came in, and if you don't agree with them, you may turn around and leave now."

Tyler nodded, and folded his arms in a way that suggested he would do the ejecting personally if dissidents didn't go on their own.

... it had seriously been too long since his last fight.

"You've been doing introductions for a week. You're probably sick of it, I know I'm sick of it, let's fight. If there's anything weird about you -- you turn into Jello when somebody punches you, you can't be bruised, you can only fight wearing a cape, whatever -- tell one of us before you go and get hurt or hurt somebody else. For now" -- he gestured into the group -- "you two, you two, you two, and, Ghani, I thinkwe should have matches today. I say you fight the mayor."

"If we're doing exhibition fights, then Miss Walters, please indulge me by showing Tyler how much you've improved," Ghanima said sweetly. "And you and you, as well. Everyone else, grab someone you haven't fought before. Make a new friend, and then hit them."

[OOC: OCD up. We are living dangerously and leaving this in the wrong place. Edit: Also, I worded it badly, but yes, you can sign up or drop anytime.]

"You do seem to think that," Beka grinned at her.

"Now you be asking dangerous questions," Beka warned her. She wasn't good at giving straight answers today.

Let's be glad that was narrative, or the obvious "straight answers" joke would have to be made.

"That'd be because you like to be trouble," Beka told her. Not that Beka minded.

"It'd do little good," Beka reasoned. "You'd still be trouble."

"My Watcher hasn't gotten me to break that habit for ten years," Kennedy grinned unrepentantly. "You haven't tried nearly long enough. Besides, you like me that way."

"And this is why I like the way you think," Kennedy announced, aiming a light punch at her shoulder.

Beka chuckled and ducked out of reach. "I think you want to spar."

"I think I already have a match assigned for the day," Kennedy countered. "Which I am looking forward to, thanks. Maybe you oughta find someone to get busy with."

Go ahead and smack her, Beka. She's asking for it.

Beka raised an eyebrow and she'd be following that advise. She moved fast, aiming a punch at Kennedy's shoulder while her other hand came up to smack her on the head.

Kennedy dodged the shoulder punch, putting her directly in line to take the smack hard enough that she blinked several times.

"Hey! What was that for?"

Oh, she knew. She knew damn well, which was why she was laughing.

Beka grinned, rather pleased with herself as she thought Goodwin would approve. "You know well enough."

"Maybe I just meant finding someone to spar with, today." Kennedy rubbed at the back of her head and gave Beka a mock glare. She so hadn't meant just that.

"Mayhap I'd believe that if I wasn't talking to you," Beka replied, ignoring the glare.

Kennedy laughed and looked skyward, feigning completely unbelievable innocence. "Would you believe it about me if someone else said it, or is it too late for that?"

"Tis much too late," Beka said, "and you shouldn't make people lie for you."

"I wouldn't do that," Kennedy insisted. Well, probably not. "Besides, I'm fine with who I am. And so are you. So deal."

Beka rolled her eyes at her. "I talked to you," she reminded Kennedy.
