Island of IKEA, Wednesday Evening

Tyler walked into the very, very white IKEA atrium and glanced over at Tony to see how he was coping with the whole situation.

"I'm not sure I really believed I'd get you here," he said, halfway to himself, then: "Want meatballs?"

"You teach them." Tony equated anyone 16 and under with brats.

"I teach them when they're less sticky and have gone through puberty," Tyler pointed out, for the 50th time or so. He was still scowling.

"...okay, I don't hate this table."

Clearly, it was to be a short-lived pout.

And it was a semi-decent table...

"It's a box." Tony refused to be swayed by Swedish aesthetic.

"That's the point," Tyler said. "Do you like that one with the red legs better?"

Tony was not about to admit he didn't know what color his couch was. "Do you think it would match anything?"

"I think it's ugly, but ...." Tyler squinted. "Maybe the rug?"

Tony eyed it for a moment. "If engine grease is cleaned out of it easily, I say yes."

"I wouldn't try to sneak anything into your house that wouldn't clean up easy." Yes, he would.

"Because I'm not buying another." Yes he was. "Do they have it in red?"

"It's kind of a crimsony maroon thing."

Tyler was looking at the rugs in earnest, now. "How do you feel about blue?"

"Gold?"

There was a pause before.

"Oh god, we're picking out curtains."

"... oh my God." Tyler looked appropriately horrified. "Do you think there's fic about you doing this?"

"...in Steve's universe?" It was an important distinction.

"Sure. Wait, does that make it a yes?"

Sleeping with famous people was weird.

"Yes." Not that Tony looked much. It was research!

"What happens in a story like that?"

Tyler shouldn't ask questions he didn't want answers to.

"I mean, fucking and buying curtains isn't really a plot."

"You'd be surprised what people find entertaining."

There was some fic that involved him and his armor as well, which was... disturbing on so many levels.

"Yeah." Tyler nudged Tony with his hip. "You're a boring guy to start with."

"Maxim cover models are dull, you know," Tony replied, smirking as he leaned back against him.

Tyler chuffed out a laugh. "Well, yeah," he said. "Their job qualification is bra size. That does not take a genius."

"Dim doesn't even begin to cover it."

"Poor you," Tyler teased. "I'm sure every second with them was just hell."

"As long as they didn't talk, it was wonderful."

"Do you miss them? That. That whole" -- he gestured vaguely at the rugs -- "thing."

Tyler should find a blackboard to write on: I will not ask questions I do not want answers to, 100 times.
