Island of IKEA, Wednesday Evening

Tyler walked into the very, very white IKEA atrium and glanced over at Tony to see how he was coping with the whole situation.

"I'm not sure I really believed I'd get you here," he said, halfway to himself, then: "Want meatballs?"

"...they have meatballs?" It needed to be asked. It just really needed to be asked.

"With gravy. Also, gravlax. And cheap ice cream," Tyler said. "Swedish food is weird."

Tony shot him a look. "Remind me to take you there for their version of a hotdog sometime."

"... can I wash it down with lots of vodka?"

That seemed like the appropriate question.

"The point is to be drunk before you eat one."

"What do they even put on them?" Tyler asked, as he went to collect their dorky huge yellow bag. "Salmon? Gravy?"

"Seafood salad," Tony replied, looking at the bag as if it might give him the plague.

Tyler was looking at Tony as if he had randomly gone insane. "Those are totally different foods."

"Like I said, it's best when you're drunk." A beat. "Be glad I never took you to a theme restaurant in Japan."

"Yes. Yes, I am," Tyler said. He hadn't been to Japan, but he'd read the Internet. He knew to be afraid. "I don't think I even want to know what theme restaurant you're thinking of."

"Mayonnaise fondue."

"... Jesus, that's like an invitation for the kitchen staff to do the most disgusting things they can think of." Tyler had made his way to the store map and was studying it like it was written in Chinese. "Should we eat? Or buy stuff?"

Tony sighed. "As long as you don't expect me to keep anything in my apartment."

"Anything I smuggle in, stays until you notice it," Tyler offered, as if bargaining.

Great, now he needed to pay attention.

"I think I'd notice something like that." Just like he totally noticed that Tyler had all but moved in.

"Tony, what color is your bedspread?"

Just making a point.

"...black?"

It was green.

"Point proven," Tyler said sofly. "Let's look at the kitchen stuff."

"What color is it?" Tony asked, frowning as he looked at the 'map' for where that would be.

"Huh? It's green," Tyler said. "Not even all that dark a green."

"Huh." His next guess would have been red. "Maybe I should get a new one."

"They sell them," Tyler said, and paused to glare at a kid who had bumped into him at full speed. "I love parents who can't watch their brats."

"You teach them." Tony equated anyone 16 and under with brats.

"I teach them when they're less sticky and have gone through puberty," Tyler pointed out, for the 50th time or so. He was still scowling.

"...okay, I don't hate this table."

Clearly, it was to be a short-lived pout.

"It's a box." Tony refused to be swayed by Swedish aesthetic.
