Office #18, Monday

It was strange given the absolute chaos of the weekend, but Tyler felt pretty good as he opened his office even though he was still worried about Tony and Sam. Things seemed quieter in his head since that whole fight that ended in a hug.

He felt ... healthy.

Weird.

Shaking his head, he settled in to work on class plans for the week. He wasn't going to just hand them the Anarchists' Cookbook again, but his other half probably wasn't wrong about cabbage juice being a lame plan.

The office door was open.

"I think I can put up with you for that long," Tyler smiled. "No mortal enemies crashing around, right?"

"Just the one that I know of," Tony replied with a grin. "I'll try to keep it to a minimum."

"I'll hold you to that," Tyler warned, then fished in a desk drawer. "Here's a set of spare keys. Trash day is handwavy and let me know if anything's growing in the bathroom, I haven't been up there to check in a while. The rooms are all furnished."

He tossed the keys to Tony in a gentle arc.

Tony raised an eyebrow at the bathroom comment. "Thanks. You're just my hero this week, aren't you?" He said, eyes wide for the drama.

What, Tony thought Tyler cleaned?

"You're welcome to swoon into my manly arms anytime."

He could always hire someone to do that for him. Like Tony did.

Poor Sam. Poor, poor Sam.

"I'd call you my knight in shining armor, but it's my armor, actually."

Tyler still half-expected a Space Monkey to turn up and make the offer.

He laughed. "And I'm not in it yet. Seriously, though, it's nothing. The island will find a way to make you make it up to me."

"I promise to help you put your battery in if someone shows up to kill you," Tony said, holding a hand up like a Boy Scout.

"Then we have a deal," Tyler said.

"I think this is the first time I've lived with people since college," Tony remarked, far too chipper for someone still on pain meds.

Tyler had to think about that. "I've never lived entirely on my own for more than a couple weeks," he admitted. "Sometimes Fight Club would be so many people, it felt like the house was alive. Not something I'm rushing back to."

Of course, he was telling this to the guy whose house kinda was alive in being controlled by an AI.

Tony thought back to his college days. "I'll try not to leave anything laying about."

"And I'll refrain from going through your stuff," Tyler said dryly.

"I'll make it up to you," Tony replied, standing up slowly. Oh yeah, that still hurt.

"No worries." Tyler watched him warily. "You okay walking back to town?"

"I got here, didn't I?" That was a maybe. "And I have plenty of the very nice pills in case anything starts to hurt."

"You can call one of the rickshaws if you can't make it," Ty;er said, sympathetic. "Take care of yourself, Tony."

"Try not to work yourself too hard here," Tony replied, waving back over as his shoulder as he went for the door.
