Office Hours, Monday, 4/13

Tyler wasn't making much progress on his lesson plan for the week; he had gotten dragooned into a tea party with a very demanding five-year-old.

Anyone who looked in his office door for much of the morning would find the anarchist leader of Fight Club sitting cross-legged on the floor, wearing a construction paper hat decorated with wilting flowers and sipping Kool-aid from a paper cup.

"Keep your pinkie out, Daddy," Estella commanded, giggling.

Daddy obeyed.

[OOC: Open office door to visit Tyler or Estella, or to crash the tea party.]

"They go home," she said, ruffling Ken's hair. "Tonight, probably, if it's the same as last year. There'll be a portal."

Ino shrugged a bit. "Apparently I've taught them to listen fairly well to me. Ichigo's the one they keep running roughshod over."

"Okaasan's scary when she's mad," Isae contributed, grinning up at Ino.

"So it's not too bad 'less there's the four of them. Bedtime is probably the worst part of the day."

"Universe-to-universe delivery service," Tyler mused, glancing to Estella again. "All of yours are with your boyfriend? Must have freaked him out."

[intraspective]

"Apparently," she said, with a roll of her eyes, "he asked Isae if they'd been paid to lie to him and pretend to be his. He's gotten over that, at least, though I suspect we're going to be having an argument once we're--" she waved one hand vaguely in the direction of the kids, "but whatever, if he's not going to take control, I'll do it even if that means bossing him around, you know?"

It helped that Ino liked bossing people around.

"He struck me as someone who could mostly take care of himself," Tyler commented, trying to remember Ichigo from the summer before. "Just ... at least give him a chance to be in charge, Ino. People like that."

[intraspective]

"Yes," she said evenly, "but the right time is not when you've got four kids up past their bed times and him acting like a fifth."

"He does pretty good with two of them at a time," she admitted, "it's just, when there's four, I think he gets freaked out."

"I can't blame him," Tyler said. One kid freaked him out. "So he has the other two now?"

Estella was chattering away about the tea. "my tongue is blue!" she informed Ino, sticking out said tongue.

[intraspective]

"It's very blue, sweetheart," Ino said, grinning at Estella. "How much tea have you had today?"

"Yup," she said, glancing back at Tyler while Isae passed her 'tea' off to Ken. "He didn't have class today, so he got the hyper-active ones."
