Tyler had gratefully shed the Armani for his usual look as soon as he got back to Vegas and was sitting behind his desk, trying not to pick at the bee stings on his arm as he worked on the lesson of the week.

His thoughts kept drifting to, "Nazi bees. Seriously."

The office door was open.

[OOC: Open office, SP warning on.]

Ghanima tilted her head and regarded him in a manner that usually sent the smart sycophants and dignitaries fleeing for the other Atreides, because it made Leto seem like the saner safer choice.

"No, although I thank you for the offer," she replied smoothly. "If there is a problem, I tend to clean up after myself."

"The reason I ask, is because Fandom has a rather interesting dichotomy, and I was wondering if you'd noticed it. Today in class, a number of students seemed to take personal issue with the subject matter, as if it hit close to home."

"I am willing to bet that I will hear about them taking it out on another student in the salle, or hitting the bags at the gym, by the week's end. Personally, I find the idea of angry children hitting things without supervision worrying, no matter how much 'training' some of them have had." She regarded him coolly, her face still completely neutral. "Considering your duel with Mr. Durden the Second during our last invasion, I was curious. You seem to have... experience. In dealing with controlled aggression through violence."

Well now, that had gotten his attention. "Most of the island seems to enjoy hitting things that hit back," Ghanima replied. "However, there's a difference between indiscriminate violence, and release through violence. I'm interested in the latter."

"At the moment, I currently tutor a few select students in combat forms, but I cannot spend all my time at the gym working one-on-one with every student that needs to let off steam." She smiled slightly, to take any edge out of her words. "Which is where you come in. I know there has been a self-defense club here in the past, but what I am proposing is more of a 'hit someone who can and will hit back until I feel better' group. A place with adult supervision, where our students can let off some of the pressure before they have their first mental breakdown at eighteen."

"It would be a nice chance for the students to interact with the adult population outside of classes," Ghanima mused. "And it would give the adults a social option beyond just going to the bar."

"Matchmaking through violence is a time-honored tradition," Ghanima objected. "Although not exactly the primary intent of this exercise."

Ghanima looked at him blankly. "I have no idea what half of what you just said means," she informed him cheerfully, "but if you wish to call it 'Fight Club', I think that is appropriate."

Ah, the joys of being almost-completely internet-ignorant.
