After Hulk Leaves...

General Ross |
Ross had taken about two minutes to fully comprehend the situation at hand. Mind, he'd been threatened by a loud, grey monster at the time, but really, that didn't come into it. There had been a Banner. No longer. There was, however, a man in a metal suit he was starting to suspect was someone who might actually actively resent him. And his helicopter had blown up. "What," Ross yelled, when all of this had fully culminated into a response. "The hell do you think you are doing?!" |
Iron Man |
"Doing your job for you," Tony said, the dryness managing to come through the voice filter this time. There was a mechanical whirring noise as the repulsors powered down and he lowered his arm. |
General Ross |
"Then why is that monster still out on the streets?!" Ross demanded, finding absolutely no problem with the idea of pointing his finger in the metal man's face. Repeatedly. |
Iron Man |
Tony tilted his head for a 'Bitch, please' look that probably even came across despite the helm. "From what I see, there's only one monster here. Yours." Oh yeah, he had Jarvis monitor their radio frequencies as soon as he got near the city. It was very informative. "You going to clean that up or should I do that too?" |
General Ross |
"It's being handled," Ross said, gritting his teeth. Every word in that sentence seemed like its own sentence, the way he was saying it. "If Banner escaped custody due to your actions..." |
Tony |
"If Banner escapes due to my actions?" Tony had no problem getting right back in the man's face. Being in a suit of armor that was pretty much the most sophisticated weapon ever built might have helped. "If you want to play the blame game with me, you've messed with the wrong man." |
SHIELD Agent |
It was rather lucky that more than a few men in nice, but plain black suits arrived on the scene, calmly weaving through the crowd and giving orders to back people away from the lot. One of them, who Tony vaguely recognized, approached the General, standing just to his side and out of personal space. "General. Director Fury would like a word." |
General Ross |
"Listen--" Whatever he wanted Tony to listen to, it had momentarily evaporated under the presence of that man. "...Where is he?" |
Agent of SHIELD |
"On the radio. Sir." It was a polite afterthought. "If you'll just come with me..." |
Tyler |
Tyler watched the general and the agent move away, looking utterly puzzled. Finally, after a long moment, he turned to Tony. "Do you need help getting out of that thing?" There was more to say, but that was a place to start. |
Tony |
"...I have something back home to help me out of it." As long as the damage wasn't too bad. And he was beginning to think that Pepper just might kill him if he ended up on the cover of another tabloid. "Are you--" He might have had Jarvis running visual scans on him. "--not injured?" Tony finished a touch lamely. |
Tyler |
"Let me follow you home," Tyler insisted. His hand was still at his ribs. "Black and blue, cracked rib. I've had worse. Better than I should be after crawling out of a crash. You?" |
Tony |
"The same." "And a concussion, sir." Tony made a face that was luckily hidden by the helm. "I think we should probably be getting out of here before Ross returns." |
Tyler |
Tyler eyed Tony skeptically. "You can't so much hail a cab like that. Should I meet you there?" |
Tony |
Tony tilted his head to see if any of the soldiers were aiming weapons at him at the moment. "How does a little bit of flying sound to you?" |
Tyler |
"... I'm guessing you don't mean in a plane." |
Tony |
"Well, it's either see just how well this suit flies with a second person or see if the military wants to debrief you." He'd handle SHIELD. They might be angry he was still ducking the meetings. |
Tyler |
Tyler helpfully muttered something into a fist that might have been "This is so fucking gay." "Sure," he said, louder. "I say we try it. Not like we can screw our day up that much worse." |
Tony |
Tony could hear him perfectly fine inside the suit. One of the things he did make sure to do. "I can't honestly say that my reputation could get worse here," Tony informed him, one arm moving to circle Tyler's waist so he could do this without burning the other man's feet off with the jets. |
Tyler |
"That's comforting," Tyler snarked, stepping closer and surrendering to whatever Tony was going to do. The metal felt surprisingly cool through his jacket. |
Tony |
"I'd suggest putting your arms around my waist and not letting your feet touch my boots," Tony said, not sighing at all. Really. "Sir, the suit was never made for such unstable flight." At that he amended with, "We'll get to one of my apartments and I can get this damn thing off." |
Tyler |
"All right," Tyler said, moving as recommended. He ended up stooped slightly, arms awkwardly overlapping at the back of the suit. "This would be easier if you weren't short." |
Tony |
"Right." Tony pulled another face, tilting his head for a moment before kicking the jets on. "Try not to fall." |
Tyler |
"I'll do my best," Tyler said dryly, then fell silent as the rockets roared to life. His stomach went wobbly, and he was rather visibly concentrating on don't let go and don't throw up. |
Iron Man |
The flight was more than a little wobbly as well. With one hand holding onto Tyler so he couldn't turn into a messy splat on the pavement, Tony was having trouble stabilizing, but it was working. Much to the amazement of the crowd and military on the ground. "Buckle up," Tony said before aiming as best he could for uptown. |
