13 Griffin Way, Sunday Night
The taste of the priest's blood still sang in Louis' mouth as he ran back to the home whose keys had been among the belongings in the apartment where he woke up with that same priest the morning before.
He was the most vile of all sinners, and he knew it, damned even among those doomed to walk as vampires. The fact he knew Lestat would take pride in what he'd done made it sting even more.
He wondered, dimly, where Lestat and Claudia had gotten to; he hadn't seen them since the tavern the night before. With that thought on his mind, he started exploring the house, searching for signs of any residents living, dead, or otherwise.

He offered a perfect grin to the near-corpse before him, idly twirling a lock of hair in his fingers.
"Normally, here is where I would tell you that I'm going to offer you the choice that I was never given," he said, an almost genuine soothing note lacing his words. "If not for this; You lashed out at My Louis," and this was entirely matter-of-fact. "You drew his blood, and for that, you might have been allowed to simply die."
His teeth scraped across her wrist almost teasingly.
"I imagine you were delicious. I am certain that you'll make an excellent mother for Our Claudia."
His teeth were at his own wrist now, and his blood was glistening, beautiful red sitting stark and clear on his pale skin.
And then, his blood was trickling against her lips.

As the drops wetted her lips, they awakened some strange consciousness within her; her tongue was flicking against her lips, seeking more. Hungering for it. Her mouth opened and pressed against his wrist, feeding. It was elixir. It was intoxicating.
Somewhere behind the rush of blood, the pain was starting.

He spared her a smug, tired smile. Sharing his blood was never easy, after all.
"It will hurt. And then it will hurt her no longer."

Eliza screamed, back arching as she writhed. Every inch of her skin was set aflame. Every nerve twisted itself and burned out. She sobbed. She pleaded. She burned.
After a thousand years, or perhaps a few long, terrible minutes, she was quiet, as her heart beat to a stop. Her hair had nearly pulled itself from her proper pinnings, during her death struggle; now it flowed around her in thick, dark curls. Her teeth sharpened themselves into fangs.
Her eyes seemed to work; Eliza sat up, carefully, entranced by the sights before her.
"What is the meaning of this?" she asked calmly, glancing at each of them in turn.

He had hated watching her agony; he was only grateful it seemed to have been short, and more grateful yet that Claudia now had the mother she had so desperately craved. They would be a family, now, and one that might last for eternity.

"Maman," she murmured, tentatively, but with increasing fascination as she stepped forward, towards her. "Maman, you are mine as my fathers gave you to me."

How heartbreaking, to be an eternal child with no mother's comforting embrace.

Tilting her head slightly, she reached up to cup her new maman's cheek. "Love me, maman, love me forever."

"I shall, little one," she said, sniffling against those golden curls. "I shall be your maman. For always."
If she were doomed (and damned) to haunt the edges of night. then she would at least keep this child safe. Loved. Protected.
